Event: Subject charged with assault on a police officer

Place: Joel Court in Springville

 

 

St. Clair County Sheriff's Patrol Division arrived at Joel Court around 1:30 on Sunday, August 4 to serve a felony warrant on Chritopher Layfield.

Layfield initially hid inside the home with the help of occupants, then he fled on foot. As he was fleeing, he assaulted a Sheriff's deputy attempting to take him into custody.

Layfield was arrested on scene and without further incident.

Layfield was charged with the active warrant for FTA- Domestic Violence 2nd, and additional charges of assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, attempting to elude a police officer.

His bond set at 15,000.00
