The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office would like to make the public aware of an ongoing scam happening in the county. Criminals are posing as local law enforcement by phone or text to extort money or private information.

Please be aware that the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office does not call citizens requesting money for any reason and you should never give out requests for personal information to callers or by text.

Please be vigilant in keeping your personal information secure at all times.
