Event: Scammers pretending to be local law enforcement

A scam has been brought to the attention of the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office this week.

Scammers are contacting residents and pretending to be an officer from the Sheriff's Office with intent to defraud them out of money.

Everyone please beware these criminals are working hard in our area and at no time will anyone from the Sheriff's Office call you and ask for money or a credit card.

If you are contacted do not send any money and notify central dispatch immediately at 205-884-3333.
