The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office was alerted to a stolen vehicle from Ashville traveling on I-59 SB.
The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit began. The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office pursued the vehicle into Jefferson County where the at one point the suspect struck multiple law enforcement vehicles.
Stephen Michael Phillips a 37 yo, w/m of Athens, AL was taken into custody at the Green Springs Plaza without incident.
The suspect was booked into the Clair County Jail in Ashville. Bond is 16,000.00.
