Incident at Springville High School

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office responded to Springville High School to assist the Springville Police Department at approximately 7:13 am this morning on a 911 call from a female student. The female was distressed and had a handgun in her backpack.

Law enforcement made contact with the female and secured the handgun. 

The female is currently being transported to Children's Hospital.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing at this time.
